2012 KTM 450 SX-F Factory EditionIt is with great excitement that KTM announces the release of the brand new 2012 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition. This is an entirely new model which showcases a brand new 450 SX engine and chassis that that make this the bike of choice for Red Bull/KTM rider Ryan Dungey.
Power for the Factory Edition comes from the new generation 449.3cc fuel-injected, single-cam, lightweight, four-stroke engine. In addition, the motorcycle features an entirely new chassis, including a new frame design new triple clamps and a new swingarm all combined for a new level of performance and handling.
If that wasn’t enough, the bike also comes equipped with new generation plastics, orange powder coated frame, racing seat cover, orange anodized rear sprocket, black Excel rims, orange radiator protectors, Dunlop MX51 tires, black anodized Renthal Fat Bar, and Factory Red Bull KTM SX Team graphics.
The 2012 450 SX-F Factory Edition will be available in limited quantities, beginning February 2012.

- 5 speed transmission with hydraulic operated single spring diaphragm clutch
- Die cast engine cases and lightweight engine parts provide 4.4lb weight savings
- New Keihin 44mm throttle body with tapered bore and repositioned fuel injector
- Newly designed single cam valve train with ultra light rocker arms, 4 titanium valves and high performance springs and retainers
- New piston featuring a 12.6:1 compression ratio and box in box design, with new compression ring and oil scraper ring
- New crankshaft with new Pankl plain bearing connecting rod
- New orange powder coated frame and new black anodized triple clamp design for improved flex and handling characteristics
- Aggressive new bodywork including new front fender, number plate, radiator shrouds and airbox covers
- Red Bull KTM Factory SX Race Team graphics and racing seat
- New one-piece cast swingarm with 5mm larger rear axle (25mm)
- Black Excel rims with machined hubs
- Orange anodized rear sprocket
- New fuel tank design with threaded inner screw cap type
- Black anodized Renthal Fat Bar with new KTM 827 bend
